I’ve always loved to write. I literally have dozens of journals from over the years. Writing helps me to THINK and PRAY my way through living. It clarifies my perspective, documents the important happenings and in short helps me to “number my days” with a more appreciative alertness to the moments, present and past.

Several anchors have been my mainstay through nearly 6 decades of life.

  • Faith: Relating daily to the great, gracious and personal God has been central.
  • Home: Prioritizing consistently the relationships with my husband, three grown children and now 4 grandchildren has been at root a non-negotiable.
  • Music: Having grown from a hobby into a well-honed skill and now a profession, I find inestimable joy in conducting choirs (both those Millikin University and in festival opportunities) and also in teaching private voice students on the college level. From early on I have incorporated singing into the fabric of our family, as well.

Another passion is mentoring – that is, sharing with other people the treasures and insights I’ve stumbled across (totally in spite of myself!) along the way – in all three arenas: Hope (Faith), Hospitality (Home) and Harmony (Music Education as a powerful mode of expression and community, both in the workplace and at home.) This blog seems to be a extension of these passions – and so I write.

I hope you write back! Dialogue about these things is important to me, whether you are a friend from my present or past, or someone I’ve never met. Thanks for the gift of your time to read and “hover” with me over these vital parts of living. I pray that your time spent here will enrich your own journey.
